Perhaps because it is a line that has crept into more than one poem of mine.

Perhaps it is a state of being, referring to a state of fluidity and some antediluvian, almost Darwinian state of myth. Or perhaps it is in homage to the hidden merlusines, lamias and mermaids who swim in the dark waters of the unconscious self. Whatever it is, Growing Fins has been what I’ve been naming my journal in private. I’m working on redesigning everything now. It will likely take awhile before everything is transferred over.
